In the fulfillment of it's mission VITAE provides Bursaries to Champ Camps.
A former Participant of a Champ Camp wrote - "Before I went to the Camp I was suffering from anxiety, depression and other mental health issues but since returning home I was declared mentally healthy and gained a full time job earning money on my own which gives me the opportunity to eventually gain the things I want. I have gained a better understanding of life not only the good things but how to overcome the bad and my own personal goal which I was searching for - happiness. I've become a better person knowing how to approach myself when things don't seem to be going my way. I realised that nothing is all that imposible after all I've accomplished.
Another former Participant came back for a visit months later and informed his mentors that he had told his girlfriend that he would not return to her until she gave up drugs as nothing was going to drag him down again to the misery that he had experienced before.

A Champ Camp is conducted over nine days of concentrated training in the bush, about 30 minutes south of Beaudesert, Queensland. The Camp consists of three phases:
- Phase 1- Operation BRUMBIE. The bush craft phase creating skills to meet physiological, safety, and relationship needs. This includes navigation and adventure.
- Phase 2 - Operation MATILDA. The expedition phase that presents challenge and team work while enhancing self confidence and oneness with nature.
- Phase 3 - Operation DRAGON. The self developmental phase involving a solo and strategies to look at reactive and proactive behaviours. This leads to the development of strategies for confronting the ‘real world' while shaping a happy future.
Participants must have a reasonable level of physical health.
All medical issues must be disclosed in the application. Applicants with backgrounds of drugs and alcohol abuse must no longer be 'using'.
Applicants must have a non-psychiatric background.
Participants or their referees must arrange return travel to and from the Camp Assembly Point.
Vitae will offer bursaries to cover the full or part cost of the Champ Camp for young people who otherwise could not participate.
The Camps are conducted by Bush Venture Pty Ltd.
The Champ Camp is being evaluated by Bond University. The purpose of the evaluation is to focus on those psychological and personality factors that the Camp is seeking to promote, such as positive self identity, emotional growth, self efficacy and decreased risk of antisocial behaviour.
